  17.     The company I work for has just bought a simple 3-axes machine, used
  18. for screwing and for dispensing glue and solder pastes. The programs are kept
  19. in a PCMCIA that contains all the software. In order to solve the problem of
  20. memory limitations, I wish to save the programs in a PC to be connected to the
  21. RS-232 the machine is equipped with.
  22.     
  23.     The manual reports instructions about this operation, but it refers to
  24. an optional (and expensive) memory kit made of another memory card, a serial
  25. cable and the "software" (just plain DOS batch files, e.g. "copy com1: ..." and
  26. so on).

  28.     As I am totally new to serial communications,  I would like to know if
  29. the back up is possible also without this "kit", for example using Kermit or
  30. Windows Terminal. In this case, what commands should I give to access the
  31. various programs in the memory card?
